| The Orthopaedic Trauma and Trauma Reconstruction
Service at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is
the only orthopaedic practice in the state where trauma subspecialists
provide patient care. Trauma subspecialists provide care for
the most difficult trauma cases in orthopaedic surgery, including
patients with complex fractures, posttraumatic complications,
and bone infections. They provide patients with comprehensive
and coordinated care and work with specialists from throughout
the UAB Health System to treat patients with a high degree of
organ injury resulting from high energy trauma. Often this multidisciplinary
care results in shorter hospital stays and earlier recuperation
for patients. They have years of special training and experience
in the care and management of difficult fractures. |
