Why UAB?

|
|
| The Orthopaedic Oncology Service at the University
of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is the only orthopaedic practice
in the state where orthopaedic oncology subspecialists provide
patient care. Orthopaedic oncology subspecialists train for
an extra year in orthopaedic oncology and devote their career
to further study and research in that area. UAB has the only
two fellowship-trained orthopaedic oncology specialists practicing
in Alabama. They treat many forms and subtypes of neoplasms,
including rare sarcomas that can affect the body's supporting
structures (bone, tendons, muscles, fat, and fibrous tissues).
Our specialists offer unique skills and experience related to
orthopaedic treatment of cancer. Together with specialists in
the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, they work to find the optimum
management protocol for your patients. |
